ME faculty member selected for SEC grant

Congratulations to Lei Chen, an assistant professor from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who received a 2016-2017 Southeastern Conference (SEC) Visiting Faculty Travel Grant.
This December, Chen will be visiting the University of Georgia’s Mechanical Engineering Department to enhance research collaboration on materials between both departments.
Chen’s proposal was one of eight across the Mississippi State campus that received funding for this academic year.
The SEC Faculty Travel Program is part of SECU, the academic initiative of the Southeastern Conference. SECU works to support and promote the academic endeavors of the students and faculty at the conference’s member institutions.
