STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Bagley College recognized 18 students at its Graduate Student Publications Awards Ceremony and Reception.

Each semester, this event gives the BCoE an opportunity to encourage participation in high-quality research and reward graduate students’ accomplishments.

“One of the main goals of research is to disseminate your findings. These awards recognize the efforts of our students as they pursue their graduate degrees,” interim dean Jason Keith said.

To qualify for a publication award, a graduate student must be the first author of a published peer-reviewed journal co-authored by a BCoE faculty member. Each qualified student author received a $300 award and a certificate of achievement.

Edith Martinez-Guerra, a doctoral student in civil engineering, earned special recognition as the Distinguished Graduate Scholar. This award honors one graduate student for having the best quality or highest number of articles published.
