Communications Intern Position

The Bagley College of Engineering’s Publications Office is looking to hire a current Mississippi State student for a paid communications internship. This student intern will assist with writing press releases, news articles, feature stories, and promotional copy for the college’s website and print publications. There will also be some light office work and may be opportunities to help produce videos, assist with event planning, work with social media and design for print and web.

Applicants should be in good academic standing and have:

  • knowledge of AP Style
  • an understanding of various news writing styles and techniques
  • experience conducting news-gathering interviews
  • the ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines

Photography, videography, graphic design and/or web design skills are a plus (though not necessary) and could lead to additional portfolio-building opportunities.

Ideally, the intern will be able to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year. The intern must be an enrolled student during the Spring 2024 semester.
