The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is service organization that focuses on supporting women in engineering and encouraging the future women in engineering.

When: Friday, April 22; from 2 – 4 p.m.

Where: The Mill Conference Center at Mississippi State University

Scholarship Recipients:

Sarah Boles, Biological Engineering, Junior, May 2017
Sarah is from Cantonment, Florida, and serves as a SWElite outreach and volunteer member. She is also a member of American Society of Biological and Agricultural Engineers.

Penelope Dao, Mechanical Engineering, Sophomore, May 2018
Penelope is from Tupelo, Mississippi. She served as the 2015 SWE mechanical engineering departmental officer and currently serves as membership chair. She is a member of the Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity.

Awbrey Foster, Mechanical Engineering, Sophomore, May 2018
Awbrey is from Houston, Texas, and serves as the 2016 SWE mechanical engineering departmental officer. She is also a member of Engineers without Borders, Social Therapeutic And Robotic Systems (STARS) and Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Delaney Gillespie, Chemical Engineering, Freshman, May 2019
Delaney is from Loretto, Texas, and serves as a SWElite webmaster. She is also a proud member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Elizabeth Martin, Electrical Engineering, Junior, December 2017
Elizabeth is from Marion, Mississippi, and an active SWE member.

Emily Mealins, Environmental Engineering, Senior, December 2016
Emily is from Columbiana, Alabama, and serves as SWE secretary and officer advisor. She is president of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers and a dedicated member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. She also serves as treasurer for the Spanish Club.

Monica Pistorius, Civil Engineering, Freshman, December 2018
Monica is from Decatur, Alabama. She assisted with SWE’s coffee fundraiser and Night Out at Sweet Peppers. She has aspirations of becoming a SWE departmental officer. She is also involved with the Soil and Water Conservation, MSU women’s choir and the Day One Leadership Program.

Jordyn Polito, Chemical Engineering, Sophomore, May 2018
Jordyn is from Trussville, Alabama, and serves on the SWElite public relations team. She is also responsible for designing and advertising materials for SWE MSU events. She is a proud member of the Maroon band, where she is the clarinet section leader. In addition, she is a member of Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, where she serves on the T-shirt committee.

Madeline Walley, Chemical Engineering, Junior, May 2018
Madeline is from Hoover, Alabama. She is a committed member of SWE and serves as the ambassador and regional liaison for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Elizabeth Wright, Mechanical Engineering, Junior, May 2018
Elizabeth is from Gautier, Mississippi, and has participated in several SWE-sponsored events. Elizabeth serves as the internal outreach officer of Girls Engineering Change and is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Mechanical Engineering Ladies organizations.
