For the eighth consecutive year, Scotland-based engineering firm Petex has renewed its $6.5 million software donation to Mississippi State University. The donation benefits MSU’s Department of Geosciences and the Swalm School of Chemical Engineering by equipping students with industry-standard tools as part of their academic curriculum.
Engineering students gain access to a suite of licenses for software including PROSPER, GAP, PVTP, MBAL, REVEAL and RESOLVE, all widely used in industry for petroleum engineering analysis and optimization.
“We greatly appreciate PETEX’s continued generosity,” Bagley College of Engineering Interim Dean Robert Green said. “It is through partnerships like these—and the support of the companies that hire our graduates—that the Bagley College of Engineering can continue offering a world-class education at an exceptional value.”
